Mission Statement

Identify and educate those with addictions through accountability and treatment to strengthen our community in a collaborative court setting.

How The Program Works

The process that eligible participants receive entails individualized treatment and counseling under the supervision of the court. Undergoing this process offers a variety of incentives including sobriety, quality treatment, reduction in jail time/fines, and community service (based on program compliance and active participation), and assistance with license reinstatement when eligible.

Eligibility

Candidate must be a veteran with service in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, or corresponding reserves or National Guard. One must also have the following charges and no excluding factors:

  • Possession of controlled substance
  • Prescription drug offense
  • Criminal charges in which drug use is a major factor or where there are indications that trauma or mental illness may have a factor
  • Recommendations from law enforcement officers, probation officers, defense attorneys, district attorney’s office, solicitor general’s office, family members, judges, etc.

Program Information

Drug Screening

Alcohol and drug screenings are conducted on a random basis. You must call every morning starting at 5:00 am – 8:00 am. When directed, you must show up at Detect and Protect for collection of samples between 8am- 12pm.

AA/NA Meetings & Work

Clients are required to attend 2 AA/NA meetings a week and submit signed documentation. In addition, clients must work a minimum of 32 hours a week (or do a combination of work/community service/school). Proof of work hours and AA/NA sheets must be submitted to Case Manager no later than 9am on Mondays.

Court Attendance

Clients are required to attend court sessions which meet twice monthly. Fees are due the first court session of the month.  This attendance is mandatory.
